The death toll rose to 141,772 with 412 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed. There are 372,293 active coronavirus infections in the country which comprise 3.81 % of the total caseload, the data stated. India’s Covid-19 tally had crossed the 2 million mark on August 7, 3 million on August 23 and 4 million on September 5. It went past 5 million on September 16, 6 million on September 28, 7 million on October 11, 8 million on October 29, and 9 million on November 20. The health ministry stressed that more than 70 % of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities.
