A news release from New Westminster police says the incident happened just before 10 p.m. Sunday. NEW WESTMINSTER, B. C.—A man has died following a shooting involving officers in New Westminster, B.C. Officers were called to a report of a suicidal man, possibly carrying a firearm, at the rear of a Walmart store in the Queensborough neighbourhood. Shots were fired as officers arrived and the man died of his injuries. The release does not say who fired the shots, but it says no officers or bystanders were hurt.
