Politicians at Leinster House will get their own independent legal advice on the Supreme Court row involving Séamus Woulfe. They are also seeking the publication of all correspondence between Mr Justice Woulfe and Chief Justice Frank Clarke on whether the former Attorney General should resign. The issue of whether to appoint a committee to consider possible impeachment of Mr Woulfe remains. Mr Kelly said the Labour Party was very clear that the issue needed to be dealt with quickly. The limited letters released by the Chief Justice had “left us with half a story”, he said.
