By DAVID MUCHUIMore by this AuthorThe Registrar of Political Parties has approved the use of miraa images as a symbol by independent candidates after a lobby complained over its rejection. Nyambene Miraa Traders Association (Nyamita) spokesman Kimathi Munjuri had protested that the registrar still regarded miraa as a drug, despite it having been recognised in the Crops Act. Independent candidates are required to present symbols to the Registrar of Political Parties and the electoral commission for clearance.
