The recently formed new rural party, Independent Ireland has announced another recruit to run on behalf of the party in the local elections this year. Geraghty, the cathaoirleach of the Ballinasloe Municipal District, has been chosen to stand for election in the Ballinasloe Local Electoral Area (LEA) for the upcoming local elections on behalf of Independent Ireland. Galway local electionsHusband and father, Declan Geraghty, initially took office following the 2019 Local Elections, marking the start of his contribution to public service. According to Independent Ireland, Geraghty is “equally committed to ensuring access to social and affordable housing, aiming to secure a home for every resident in need within his community”. Shane P O’Reilly would run on behalf of Independent Ireland in the Co. Cavan local elections.
