Rangers on Queensland’s K’gari, formerly known as Fraser Island, have rejected calls for a dingo cull following a recent attack on a woman jogging on one of its beaches. Despite the growing number of attacks, rangers are refusing to cull the dingo population on the tourist destination. The attack on the jogger is the latest in a series of incidents leading to safety warnings for visitors to K’gari. Last month, rangers euthanized a dingo that had bitten a seven-year-old boy and a 42-year-old woman after repeated attacks. Despite the concern raised by these incidents, rangers insist on working toward coexistence with the dingoes rather than resorting to culling.
