A Metrolinx spokesperson says there’s an “alarming” number of incidents of people trespassing on rail corridors since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the weekend a family with two small children had a near miss on a rail bridge that runs over water towards Niagara Falls. Two weeks ago in Mississauga a Peel police officer also spotted two young women lying down on rail tracks near Lisgar GO Station while sharing images to social media.
