A quarter of Christchurch's city councillors objected to the salary offered to their new chief executive – and three voted against her appointment. Council documents only now made public show councillors were divided over the 52-year-old's pay. Yani Johanson, Deon Swiggs, Aaron Keown and James Gough voted against her salary, and all bar Johanson vetoed her actual appointment.
