The 24-year-old is very much eligible to play for the Black Stars despite featuring for Spain albeit in a non-competitive match. Ghana FA officials and coaches have made moves to have the youngster pledge his international future with the Black Stars with no success. Williams who was born to Ghanaian parents has now given the clearest indication of his choice to commit fully to Spain. Players such as Adam Kwarasey, Quincy Owusu Abyeie and Kevin-Prince Boateng have all been taken through such processes to enable them play for Ghana.
