The National Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Sunday Akande, has said the inadequacy of judges has led to adjournments of court cases which have resulted in the congestion of correctional facilities across the country. The cleric stated this on Saturday during the fourth edition conference themed, ‘Wonders of Freedom,’ held by the Prison and Hospital Ministry of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, at the Redemption Camp, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State. Akande, who was represented at the event by the Director of the Office of the General Overseer, Pastor Akin John, also called on the government to build more correctional facilities. He said, “An alternative dispute resolution legal process should be deeply explored because many of the people that are confined to the prisons are not often given fair trials and God is not happy with this. Many of them who could not meet their bail terms are also thrown into confinement and this wastes their productive years.”
