Extremely severe cyclone Amphan made landfall on the coasts of southwest Bangladesh and the state of West Bengal in India on Wednesday afternoon. Lasting for hours, the storm left a trail of devastation in its wake in the coastal districts of Bangladesh, including Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat and Pirojpur. Death tolls are rising, and the losses the region has suffered has yet to be determined. However, the government fears the losses may amount to Tk12,744 crore or $1.5 billion in Bangladesh
