(Photo by Mario Tama/Getty Images)Following The New York Times’ (NYT) purchase of sports publication the Athletic earlier this month, new data has revealed that theathletic.com is growing its visits and unique visitors at a faster rate than any of its rivals, up nearly 70 per cent for both metrics. Athletic’s popularitytheathletic.com had monthly average visits and unique visitors of nearly 15 million and six million, respectively, as of December 2021 from the prior year. Trends were similar for the unique visitor metric with theathletic.com leading at 73 per cent.
