The Kolkata Knight Riders beat champions Sunrisers Hyderabad by 17 runs, their third victory in four matches. The Sunrisers bowlers again did a decent job in restricting the Knight Riders to 172/6 after opting to bowl first. Make no mistake, it was purely due to his 39-ball 68 that the Knight Riders could somehow manage 172/6 after losing the toss. Uthappa's dismissal and the end of his 77-run stand with Manish Pandey for the third wicket clearly dented the Knight Riders' progress. The Knight Riders won't be complaining, though.
