KARACHI: In the biggest single-day jump since the coronavirus was first reported in the country, 41 more cases were confirmed in Sindh on Monday morning, taking Pakistan’s tally to 94. So far 50 people who had arrived in Sukkur from Taftaan have tested positive, 25 at Karachi & 1 at Hyderabad. By Mar 11, the number of quarantined pilgrims in Taftan, which borders Iran, rose to 4,000 out of which 2,000 belonged to Sindh. The health secretary added that all the contacts of the patients have tested negative for the virus. It was decided during the meeting that only three airports in the country — Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore — will be allowed to operate international flights in limited numbers, while other airports will only allow domestic flights.
