The state government on Sunday finally gave Rs 50 lakh ex gratia to the family of slain soldier Mandeep Singh. However, this doesn’t seem to be the sole case of delay in payment of ex gratia to martyrs’ families in Haryana. In Rohtak, family of slain BSF head constable, Rai Singh Indora, is still awaiting the promised ex gratia even after more than three months of his death. Unhappy with the disparity, angry villagers had blocked NH-10 and demanded equal compensation for his family. When asked about the matter, Rohtak deputy commissioner, Atul Kumar, said he will remind the government about it.
