In Quebec, one of Canada's thirteen provinces, a new law will prohibit "cosmetic surgeries" from being performed on pet cats and dogs. In addition to this, it bans tail docking and ear cropping. The regulation will be enacted by the Quebec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food. Declawing, devocalization, tail docking and ear cropping of cats and dogs will no longer be legal in Quebec unless done for medical reasons. Ear an tail docking have no actual benefits.
