Galway is also among the four countries to benefit from the launch of Ireland's first three accredited Blueways. In a nutshellThe world’s first three accredited Blueways opened yesterday in a bid to attract more visitors to Ireland’s stunning waters. The country’s first Blueways are at the Boyne in Trim, county Meath, Suir Blueway in Tipperary and Lough Derg Blueway which crosses Galway, Tipperary and Galway. “The newly accredited Blueways announced today, will open up Meath, Tipperary, Clare and Galway to water-based and water-side activities.”The Blueways were developed in a cross-border partnership between Fáilte Ireland, Waterways Ireland, Sport Ireland, Sport Northern Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland.
