In Gibraltar’s shadow, a sea war against drugsIn the shadow of the Rock of Gibraltar, police are waging war against a modern Armada flooding the Spanish mainland with drugs from North Africa. Using huge rubber boats – powered by 350-horse-power outboard motors – smugglers offload dozens of bundles, each containing 66 pounds of Moroccan hashish. The sea journey takes just a few minutes. The smugglers say they have to run drugs to feed their families.
