A Dhaka court on Wednesday summoned Gonojagoron Moncho spokesperson Imran H Sarker and cultural activist Sanatan Ullash in a defamation case filed for their derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. After recording statement of the plaintiff, the magistrate asked the two accused to appear before court on July 16. According to the case statement, a torch procession led by Imran and Sanatan, was brought out at Shahbagh on May 28 protesting the removal of the statue of Greek goddess Themes from the Supreme Court premises. Meanwhile, Gazipur Juba League Joint Convener Sumon Ahmed Shanto Babu filed another defamation case against Imran H Sarker, Sanatan Ullash and Nasir Uddin, activists of Gonojagoron Moncho, with Gazipur Senior Judicial Magistrate Court. The accused were asked to appear before Gazipur court on October 15.
