The Dhaka first additional chief magistrate ordered the arrest warrant against Sarker after he failed to appear in court for the indictment hearing on Thursday. Ganajagaran Mancha activist Sanatan Ullash, who was also accused in the case, was granted a petition for more time by the judge. The same court had issued warrants against Sarker and Ullash on Sept 20 after they failed to attend a hearing. The allegation stemmed from a slogan chanted against Hasina from a rally to protest the removal of the Lady Justice statue from the Supreme Court premises. Sarker headed the protest rally at Dhaka’s Shahbagh on May 28.
