Ethiopia’s largest state bank, the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), recently announced a significant increase in profits for the financial year. Following this, a Facebook account posing as the CBE claimed the bank was offering its customers various prizes to celebrate its success. The CBE confirmed to AFP Fact Check that the account does not belong to them and that the bank is not giving away prizes.
