Impeachment Is Not Lynching - News Summed Up

Impeachment Is Not Lynching

Lynching is a racially-motivated act of violence, perpetrated mostly in American history against African-American men, that takes the lives of its victims. Lynching is a criminal act that violently asserts power against an entire group of people. Impeachment is so rule bound and so momentous an undertaking that Congress is taking the extra step of holding hearings before considering articles of impeachment. Impeachment hearings are procedural, not violent. Equating impeachment with lynching denigrates legitimate institutions and protocols of American government, turning people against them.
