Impact Club raises $11,100 for HospiceDOUG FIELD/STUFF Peter O'Neill from Hospice South Canterbury receives a cheque for $11,100 from Impact Club co-founders Peter Burt and Carl Slade at the Impact Club meeting on Monday night. The Impact Club's crowdfunding scheme raised $11,100 for the South Canterbury Hospice during its second gathering, $1,100 more than last time. Impact Club South Canterbury co-founder Carl Slade said he hoped for 120 members before the next gathering in May and 150 before the end of the year. The Hospice made about $100,000 each year through fundraisers, towards the $700,000 needed after the South Canterbury District Health Board had contributed 55 per cent of the total cost of running the organisation. "It's great that we have people in the community willing to support the Impact Club, and it doesn't take too much time out of their busy schedules," he said.
