He has been convicted of raping a woman in Darlington in May Durham Constabulary/PAA Kuwaiti immigrant was today convicted of the brutal rape of a woman on a riverbank soon after being granted legal status in the UK. Abdel-Aziz Al-Shamary, 21, entered Britain illegally in 2015 and was given leave to remain about two weeks before the savage assault in Darlington, County Durham, in May. Judge Sean Morris, sitting at Teesside crown court, said he wanted to see reports which looked into Al-Shamary’s “attitude towards women” before passing sentence.
