But I have to confess that, even though I typically pride myself on not being too picky, Irish cream liqueur has always been a tough one for me. As the judges put it, “Finally, we arrive at the only Irish cream liqueur I would safely rate above Baileys: Coole Swan”. Its quality ingredients, like Irish single-malt whisky, Belgian white chocolate, and fresh Irish cream, shine through without coating your mouth in an unpleasant film or making the back of your throat tighten in response to sickly sweetness. It’s the first cream liqueur I’ve tried that truly seemed like it should be sipped from a glass rather than scooped with a spoon for dessert.
