Amani Sasa Foundation chairman and ex-Mungiki leader Maina Njenga has called on the people of the Mount Kenya region to promote unity and stop divisive politics. “I’m the spokesperson of the Mount Kenya region and this debate of who is the region kingpin should end. Joseph Muriira Mwangi, chairman of Amani Sasa Meru Chapter, noted that Maina Njenga is the only leader from the Mt Kenya region who should speak on behalf of the community. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has embarked on an aggressive campaign to dislodge retired President Uhuru Kenyatta as the undisputed Mt Kenya kingpin. He castigated a section of Kenya Kwanza leadership from Mount Kenya who has been fighting him due to his stand.
