I'm a long way off from any of them, but sometimes it's fun to imagine what you'd do with all that money if you had it. So I think that whatever I spent my imaginary riches on, haute couture might be a little far down the list. Here's a better thought: I've noticed over the years that a number of local people use their real money to invest in our community. Government agencies naturally use public money, and sometimes a lot of it, to pay for services and amenities for all of us. And that, boys and girls, is the definition of noblesse oblige — people with wealth acting with generosity, responsibility and nobility.
