In Toronto we have the bogeyman Doug Ford, who, according to some, is slashing at our sacrosanct Charter of Rights and Freedoms with his “notwithstanding” clause. Ontario Premier Doug Ford speaks during question period at the Ontario Legislature in Toronto. We have been told that invoking the notwithstanding clause is not for the faint of heart. I actually do believe that Premier Ford is wrong in what he did, especially to seek such changes in the middle of a democratic process.
