It contracted with Polar Beverages, a Massachusetts soft-drink company, to produce Goslings Stormy Ginger Beer. Vodka makers know that a lot of their product these days goes into Moscow Mules (made of vodka, ginger beer and lime), just as gin makers know that much of their juice will end up in a gin and tonic. Gin Mare, produced in Spain — a country with a great thirst for gin and tonics — makes its own tonic water, called 1724. Loopuyt, a gin maker in the Netherlands, has both a tonic water and a ginger beer. Stolichnaya has sold more than 200,000 cases of its ginger beer, which is carried at Walmart.
