Trump issued a tweet storm Friday morning after apparently seeing condemnation of his action on steel imports on morning television. “When a country (USA) is losing many billions of dollars on trade with virtually every country it does business with, trade wars are good, and easy to win,” Trump wrote. “Example, when we are down $100 billion with a certain country and they get cute, don’t trade anymore-we win big. Is that worth China slapping a prohibitive tariff on American exports of soybeans, as they have threatened to do? “If the Americans impose tariffs on steel and aluminum, then we must treat American products the same way,” European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said.
