States like Florida and Louisiana have some of the worst covid rates in the world. The case rate exceeds that of the Eastern European country of Georgia (104 cases per 100,000 people) and Botswana (96), countries that are experiencing the worst outbreaks in the world. That’s how many states meet the criteria for inclusion on the CDC’s “Do Not Travel” list, according to a Forbes analysis. The U.S. is currently recording 36 cases per 100,000 people a day and would very likely meet that threshold.
