PhotoI got my first “big” story as a cub reporter at The Miami Herald in 1983, thanks to Janet Reno. “Butcher Reno!” they bellowed at the screen, hissing and booing every time there was a reference to Attorney General Reno, who in the film (and wrongly) got most of the blame for the Waco catastrophe. The Waco debacle came only weeks into Ms. Reno’s appointment — and the standoff between the government and the Davidians actually started before she was installed.
