Iceland said it had closed 'a number of stores' due to staff having to self-isolate after being notified by the NHS app. Bosses say the sheer number of staff being 'pinged' by the NHS Covid app is putting their businesses at risk. The giant Nissan car base in Sunderland has reported staff shortages and the Vauxhall van factory in Luton has slashed shifts. She said: 'It's just mayhem... they've got to get the NHS staff back quickly and stop all this ridiculous pinging stuff.'
