Ice and frost remains an issue on some secondary roads today following overnight temperatures as low as minus four degrees in some areas. In Longford roads are slippery around Longford town, while in Offaly roads are slippery around Birr and extreme caution is advised by gardaí on secondary routes in the county. ConnachtIn Mayo, gardaí are warning of ice patches on secondary roads in the Claremorris, Foxford and Swinford areas, while in Leitrim, secondary roads in Carrick-on-Shannon remain frosty. MunsterIn Cork, conditions remain icy on secondary routes in the Mallow area. Gardaí say conditions around Thurles have improved having earlier warned of dangerous conditions on secondary routes in the area.
