The man accused of killing a 13-year-old girl in Burnaby, B.C., made a brief first court appearance Friday morning. Marrisa Shen's body was found in Burnaby's Central Park a few hours after her parents reported her missing. More than a dozen people gathered along the sidewalk outside the building to support Shen's loved ones. Several people gathered outside the courthouse to support Shen's family before the teen's accused killer appeared in court at 9:30 a.m on Friday. Shen's family issued a statement thanking police, the public and the media after the arrest was announced.
