Cork GAA have announced that St Finbarr's Ian Maguire has been appointed the captain of the Cork senior football team for the upcoming season taking over from Castlehaven's Brian Hurley. The midfielder made his first championship appearance for Cork in the All-Ireland series round four qualifier match against Sligo in 2014. Cork GAA released a short statement on social media on Thursday evening confirming the news. “Cork GAA is pleased to confirm that Ian Maguire of St Finbarr's has been appointed as captain of the Cork senior football team for the new season.
