Hockey New Zealand have announced the appointment of Ian Francis as its chief executive after six months in the acting role. As acting chief executive, Francis has laid the plans out for New Zealand hockey's ambition to have the Blacks Sticks on top of the world by 2020. "I'm thrilled to have been given the exciting opportunity to lead Hockey New Zealand, and I look forward to the road ahead," said Francis. Chairman Dean Ellwood said Francis had demonstrated an excellent ability to step up to the organisation's top job on a permanent basis.
