The High Court had prevented Ian Brady’s ashes from being scattered on the moors where he buried his victims PAIan Brady was secretly cremated and his ashes disposed of at sea in the middle of the night last week, council officials have confirmed. The Moors murderer’s remains were incinerated without ceremony last Wednesday before his ashes were scattered off Liverpool marina. No music or flowers were allowed for the child killer, who died in May aged 79. The authorities conducted the procedures in secret after a court ruled that the disposal of the body should not distress his victims’ families. Brady, who tortured and killed five children with Myra Hindley in the 1960s, had asked for his ashes to be scattered on Saddleworth Moor in the south Pennines, where they buried four of their victims.
