Ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has directed troops deployed across the country to maintain professionalism, neutrality, and discipline, while ensuring citizen-friendly conduct. The instructions were issued on Thursday during views exchange meetings with senior military and civil administration officials while the army chief visited the Chittagong and Comilla areas. According to the Inter Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR), General Waker visited the two regions to review the activities of troops deployed under “In Aid to Civil Power.” During the visit, he held two separate high-level meetings in Chittagong and Comilla with divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and senior law enforcement officials. The meetings focused on strengthening inter-institutional coordination, overall security management, and field-level preparedness to ensure a peaceful and impartial election. During the discussions, the army chief reiterated the importance of professionalism, neutrality, discipline, patience, and citizen-friendly conduct by all deployed personnel.
