CAIRO — The Islamic State militant group urged its fighters and other Muslims to attack Jews in a purported audio recording released on Monday in an attempt to thwart U.S. President Donald Trump’s Israeli-Palestinian peace plan. The message was said to feature the voice of ISIL spokesman Abu Hamzah al-Quraishi but Reuters could not verify the speaker’s identity. Palestinians fear the plan will dash their hopes for an independent state in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem. “The president’s peace plan is a significant and historic milestone indeed,” Gantz told reporters later. The Trump plan is the product of three years’ effort by senior advisers Jared Kushner and Avi Berkowitz, as well as Jason Greenblatt, who left the government last autumn.
