The U.S. official said the United States believed that Iranians were upset that a disproportional amount of the sanctions relief was directed towards state security services. IRANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER MOHAMMAD JAVAD ZARIF, in a tweet: "Iran's security and stability depend on its own people, who ... have the right to vote and to protest". The people have little food, big inflation and no human rights. "You will see great support from the United States at the appropriate time!" Khamenei has blamed other governments for driving the anti-government protests that began last Thursday.
