IS claims an attack that injured a guard in Afghanistan

The Pakistani embassy in Afghanistan was shot at last week; the chief of the mission managed to escape unscathed, but a guard was injured. The Islamic State (IS) group claimed credit for the attack. A Pakistani security guard who is a member of the military’s commando squad, Israr Mohammad, was hurt during the attack on Friday in the Afghan capital Kabul. Taliban authorities have said they are investigating the attack and that the embassy compound was targeted by gunfire from a nearby building. The attack injured at least one guard and caused damage to the building, the Islamic State said.
