The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (Ipoa) is investigating the killing of five civilians allegedly by police officers in Juja, Kiambu county on March 12. Ipoa said the five were in a group of six and planned to rob Lexo petrol station along the Nairobi -Thika highway. On Thursday, Ipoa said it was independently investigating the fatal shootings. Section 25(1) of the Ipoa Act that requires that the authority investigates deaths and serious injuries caused by the police. Others include two pairs of police trousers, one police shirt, one police pullover, 10 pieces of plastic handcuffs and other personal belongings.
