Tony Okafor, AwkaThe Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, on Wednesday received a certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission to affirm his victory in the November 18 poll in the state. The certificate was handed over to him at the INEC Secretariat in Awka, the state capitalObiano won the election with 234,071, against Tony Nwoye of the All Progressives Congress, who polled 98,752 to come second in the contest. The certificate was handed over to him by the INEC National Commissioner in charge of legal services, Mrs. May Agbamuche, who represented the National Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu. Obiano thanked those who made the election a success, especially President Muhammadu Buhari, who he said, did not interfere in any form in the electoral process. The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji, said the success in the election was achieved through collective effort.
