IHC restrains accountability court from proceeding further against Dar


A division bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb granted a stay over proceedings before the trial court till January 17. The case was fixed for hearing before the accountability court on December 20. Dar through his counsel has challenged several orders of the accountability court through which the court issued bailable and non-bailable warrants of arrest and later declared him a proclaimed offender. Accountability court declares Ishaq Dar an absconderThe counsel said that a petition regarding issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants was pending for adjudication but the accountability court recently declared him as proclaimed offender due to his absence from the court’s proceedings. On September 27, the accountability court indicted Dar for amassing assets beyond his known sources of income and directed the prosecution to produce witnesses and evidence for establishing its case.
