IHC adjourns case against Khawaja Asif till Jan 23

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday adjourned the hearing of a case seeking disqualification of Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif on alleged misdeclaration of his assets before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in nomination papers until January 23. He said that the foreign minister had also not declared his earnings from businesses abroad, as well as the salary received through UAE iqama. Earlier in December, Usman, while talking about the disqualification petition against the foreign minister, told Pakistan Today that “the issue with Khawaja Asif is not new; rather it’s a 20-year-old one. We are trying to rid the city of Khawaja Asif.”He said the iqama disqualification case involved many other grounds as well. “As a federal minister, Asif did not declare his global income,” he said.
