Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque said Superintendent of Police (SP) Babul Akter is still in service but he does not go to office after the murder of his wife. IGP AKM Shahidul Haque told these while he was inaugurating the newly built police officers’ mess at Chittagong city’s Nasirabad area Thursday evening. “Babul is still in service. “He (Babul) told us that he has been broken down physiologically after the murder of his wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu” he said adding that steps would be taken against Babul as per as the departmental code of conduct. However, he does not attend the office and even maintain no contact with us,” said the police boss.
