IGP Ibrahim Idris sues for professionalism in the Nigerian police

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has advised all newly recruited Police constables across the nation to abide by the rule of law guiding the practices of the Nigerian Police Force in discharging their duties. The IGP gave the advice at the passing out of about 6, 000 newly recruited Police constables in Bauchi North-East Nigeria. Speaking shortly after the Passing out Parade, Idris represented by Bauchi State Deputy Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abdullahi, said the recruitment of new Police constables is designed to enhance the effective service delivery as well as to meet the United Nations’ standard. As the 2019 general elections draw nearer, the IGP also urged the newly recruited police to shun any acts capable of tarnishing the image of the Nigerian Police Force and that of the nation.
