Islamic Foundation Director General Shamim Mohammad Afzal told the Dhaka Tribune that they are expecting imams of Masjid al-Haram and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi to attend the founding anniversary of IFB on March 22 in Dhaka, and address people on eradicating militancy. Two political parties, however, had failed to successfully invite Dr Sheikh Abdul Rahman Ibn Abdul Aziz Al-Sudais, imam of Masjid al-Haram, in July last year. “Both Dr Sheikh and Ali Bin Abdur Rahman al Huthaify, chief imam of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, are highly respected among Muslims all over the world. Islamic Foundation is planning to arrange a rally on its 42nd founding anniversary at Suhrawardy Udyan, where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also expected to attend.
