By ELVIS ONDIEKIMore by this AuthorThe chairman of the electoral commission has called an urgent meeting with senior officials of all political parties today to discuss the conduct of nominations that have largely been marred by violence, bribery, among other malpractices. Party secretary-generals are also invited to the meeting that is viewed as a move by the commission to caution political parties against malpractice, which can lead to nullification of elections. “The agenda of the meeting shall include the enforcement of the electoral code of conduct and the party primaries,” reads part of a press release dispatched Saturday. In the press release, Mr Chebukati sent a cautionary message to party patrons. “The commission urges all political parties involved in party primaries to do so in a peaceful, transparent and credible manner,” Mr Chebukati said.
